Clare Allen
Clare is a highly experienced coach who works with her clients to enable them to gain confidence and clarity in their thinking, actions and direction. She brings her 20+ years of coaching senior leaders to support her clients to be successful in their careers and personally thrive.
Her clients are usually those in senior roles, often in Partnerships, who are: stepping into a new role and working through how to land successfully; considering who they are as a leader; working out how to enjoy and be authentic in their role; managing complex stakeholder systems or, thinking about what next for them. Areas such as personal drivers, beliefs and meaning can often emerge as part of the conversation.
Clients who work with Clare experience directness, honesty and pragmatism. Her style is conversational with depth, and she builds relationships where there is warmth and humour. Common outcomes from working with Clare are broader perspectives, fresh optimism, and being able to ‘see the wood for the trees’. She seeks to help her clients work out what the ‘real’ question/challenge is that they have as she holds a belief that once our minds are engaged here we are likely to see new possibilities. As such she gives her clients space to fully explore and poke around the areas they bring to coaching.
Clare is a former Head of Coaching with one of the 'Big Four' accountancy firms and has worked in, or alongside, Professional services firms her whole career. Her early career was with Arthur Anderson, then KPMG where she qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and worked with many public and private sector firms. On realising her interest in developing people far outweighed her interest in tax(!), she moved into talent development roles and re-trained as an executive coach. She worked in-house, leading and developing a highly respected internal coaching function for many years before working independently. This has given her the opportunity to work with a wide variety of firms and leaders.
